Usurper
For years i was asked if i had considered a "custom" predator , i had always resisted. well after 12 different predator head sculpts. and a certain event being planned i decided timing is everything so why not. this will chronicle the build, and i will post failures and successes along the way. to start off here is the head, i have been through 4 changes i believe until this point, and i still have a lot of refining to do assuming i do not change my mind again. the plan was to be faithful to the original design but different. and i think that directive messed with my own head. following the head i started tinkering in 3d design and 3d kit bashed some things together along with items made from scratch, to come up with dual shoulder cannons i may rock. i have more to add to this build but i am tired and need to chase down photos.

SharkForge
You know, I thought MAYBE he would've forgotten... I almost made a comment about it in my introduction post LOL. So stoked to see those photos! glad to see the band back together. In your experience, is silicone easier overall to wear than latex? Usurper
Dread rings, the base ( most used ) dread rings will be the dragon skin style ones. the others are accent rings, the mythosaur and ennis tile will more than likely not be used but the skulls i am partial to, and i will have a dual tie back one also.

Usurper
Gauntlets, i wanted to keep them streamlined and not bulky, i took a top blade gauntlet file i found online and built on it as it had a single blade i was looking for, then i built the base from scratch and will use it on both blade and bomb, the bomb top i am yet to mold. the tops of these are resin and the bottoms urethane rubber. molds are powdered with metallic powder prior to casting which not only heads with any paint adhesion but give a good base should they get damaged. then the whole of one side on the top is glued to the bottom, and halfway on the other side, this give me room to get my hand/arm in and a simple square of velcro is used to keep that end shut. i am going to keep a similar theme in all armor parts which on the gauntlets is the under forearm forms, they are the same as the bio ridges and that will be added to other armor parts as i make them. 3

Ptgreek
Oh man.. I love the profile on those gauntlets!
Usurper
This wraps up the current progress ( i think) i moved away from latex on my neck rings a few years back so this Wolf style neck ring is 40shore urethane rubber. i am not sure i will use it on this build if i am honest, i need to think up a brand new design maybe. Then the thigh armor ( to be printed ) This again has the similar flow to the bio and gauntlets, it is yet to be printed as i want it done in resin.
Lowdmekon
Leee, Q mate !! Your silicone heads ! How do ya glue in dreads ?

How do ya glue in dreads ? the heads are foamed, so all i do is cut a circle in the dread lug, maybe 75% of the size of a dread, then superglue gel the foam dread to the foam core, with some around the edge on the silicone also. Usurper
Head is virtually done I am resisting changing anything major, so I just have to chase down details in the next day or so the find time to mold.
Usurper
Forgot to post this also. dreads. I did not want super smooth dreads, so I am making my own textured/pre curved dreads. This was the test mold which I actually used on my new wolf mask. i will be duplicating this mold then making 2 more of reduced sizes because casting dreads sucks so multiple molds will make it less painful.
MeanGene
Do you seal these molds to prevent the foam from sticking? With like a clear coat? In my mind foam would bond to the gypsum mold.
Usurper
Gene, MANN EASE RELEASE 205 will release foam dreads from stone and epoxy ( i have opld stone dread molds here also ), i give it a couple of layers to being, then every other pull i will paint in another layer of release, wait 5 mins or so then cast.
