Looks really good!
Fun fact @PredatoRob figured out the other day.
All the P2 armor, bios and hard suit components were copper plated and then weathered. Would be cool to copper plate one of these kits and paint it up. 👍

No thanks.

Never heard of him.

Thanks for the back story. That helps frame my mind around what I should be sculpting.
The helmet should tell a story.
So glad you like it Rob. Your stuff inspires me so much. I am cursed by it because I can't stop, I'll be probably sculpting every sketch you make. It's the sickest shit outside of the movies. You are the Narin of the pencil and paper.
As for where progress is at, I spend hours upon hours on it. Changing and adjusting.
I take some pics to being home and examine it. When I look at the pics it is like seeing it in a new light and I want to change so much. Progress is slow this way. Feels like I am finding the sculpt as it is nor obvious to me where I should go. What I've learned is taking a flat sketch to clay is no easy task. There is so much that doesn't translate, so I just focus on the overall feeling the sketch portrays and try to make the sculpt project that.
All that said. I can't wait till it's done and ready for battle.

Looks great. Who sculpted and created it?

Another one from Rob's series of sketches and a difficult one at that. Very complex and has a very distinct look that I am sneaking up on slowly.
I've spent probably 3-4 days to get to this point. It is sculpted over a plaster shell made over the contours of the Matt Rose P1 mask I have.
Do you want to draw more of these yet @PredatoRob ?!

I didn't have any time to devote to posting an update on this mold and the casting. I've been dealing with a water main leak at my home which will require full replacement to the street. Bogus.
Promise I will get some more details up next week.
Have yet to count the dred holes, but I will do a full 360 tour of the head and mold.
Thanks everyone.

I found this very very helpful. Sometimes I re-watch it to get back in the groove before painting.

If you are looking for some helpful ideas?
Here goes:
The best paintjobs with weathering are done in layers. Layering colors.
Use a sponge to dab on and off.
Sometimes a semi wet paper towel is.
The more you dab of different colors it can create layers.
Tell a story in your head as you paint.
Water would pool here, so this needs extra corrosion.
This crack needs more dirt because its a low area and would settle here.
This area would be a high point and be prone to getting rubbed and be less dirty.
All of that story helps guide the paint process.
@oooICEMANooo Is a legend when it comes to paint.
Curious to see what he would say.- 1

Welcome everyone! Glad to have you.
That leather work is great. @Bovine13 does lots of leatherwork also. Maybe can check him and his wife on Instagram here:
Could see these pieces working really well as Predator armor. -
Dude. Love it.
Love the Lair build threads.
If you need anything just ask.- 1

Dude, that gold looks about right to me. Great start! Need an undermask for it? I got one.

Thanks everyone. It ships off to it's new home on Monday.
Then I am back on to the Juggernaut sculpt and a mini bio P1 project. 👍👍

Do you have any pics of the gauntlet and how it turned out?

This picture is interesting because the helmet looks so dark. But this is probably due to age.
If you look at some of the original paintwork done day 1 it is much more shiney and bright.
Has a dark gold/brass/bronze look to it. Copper tones also.
Depends on the light as it hits it.
Best paintjob I ever managed had that bright bronze color as the base. Then built off of that.- 1

The more I keep thinking about my Samurai Shinto helmet. The more I keep thinking I should keep going and make that bio the basis for a suit build.
Maybe tone down the bright red a touch to be more in line with the samurai armor pictured below.
Doing a traditional movie suit isn't super inspiring anymore, been done so many times by myself and others.
I have all these pieces and more sitting. All ready to roll.- 1

Pretty soon we will be building our own copy of it. 😉

They got the same look and feel but are obviously very different.
Both are awesome though.

Doesn't feral use the same medkit?
Pretty close I guess

Depends on a lot.
Got to remember proportions as it relates to your body size. Longer dreds on a short body look odd.
The movie dreds land on the shoulders basically.
Avp dreds are the exception. Extra long.
A lot depends on the over "look" you're going for. Hippie Pred has long dreds to get that Shaman look.
No real standard answer except - whatever works for you. 👍

Good question. When I am back at the shop I will take a look and count them. Will post pictures.

I can measure my armor pack and let you know what the mounting area is.
Might give you some idea. Will do so tomorrow morning.
Will be make these available for others to print and assemble?

Thanks Rob.
My site conditions were the following. Warm summer. Normal humidity levels. Cans stored inside.
Best I can tell the paint was just super old.
Only other thing that may have caused issue was using some wood filler as pictured below.
