Here's a Huntorial I did back in 2007 when working on my second pair of Predator feet. It seemed to help a bunch of guys back then, so bringing it back here. In the early days of Predator costumers, the artists would sculpt feet you could wear like shoes, but in an effort to gain more height in our costumes, guys would have big Frankenstein sandal soles under those feet. Never looked movie accurate in the long run. So in talking to fellow member Ruffkintoy when he was to begin sculpting his own generic style feet, he sculpted them large enough INSIDE to hide platforming material. Leaving the traditional sized Predator sandal sole viewable from the outside, and not th…

One of the oldest tricks in the Predator hobby. A lot of us started out this way or did a version of it. Simply put, you get a generic halloween costume muscle suit. Stuff it. Then coat it with latex. Add texture. Paint it and you've got yourself some body skins. Scott, Mannowar posted a thread which exists on another forum. Thought I would copy paste it here. Mr Incredible suit is chosen to use because it has a decent muscle structure. Relatively inexpensive. It is an entry level Predator - "just add armor" kind of deal. Below is some of the Thread created back on the original hunter's lair CIRCA 2007. ============================================…

My Predator 2 Body Skins Project. Completed sometime 2009-2010 Part of this topic if the sculpture itself. But seeing as the major part of the work is in fact the molding process. Figured I would plant it in this section. What I learned from this process: Body skins are a huge undertaking. Duct tape dummies work OK. A proper mannequin would be better. * Sculpt the body skins significantly larger to account for latex shrinkage. Don't make ultracl30 gypsum molds again. Ridiculously heavy. WED clay is perfect for this type of larger sculpt. Sculpt muscles and definition much more pronounced and exaggerated, the forms gets lost in latex rubber. …
