Thought I should share this found this in YouTube if a guy making display pices from metal but in the video shows how he made functional wrist blades so definitely give it a watch pretty neat ! I’m going to give it a try for my wrist blades for sure once I find all the parts I need . Hope you enjoy his video everyone!

In case anyone is interested in epoxy and fiberglass mold making, we taught a course at the Stan Winston school on it. My lead mold maker, Mike Cooke did a great job explaining our process. It’s definitely a valuable class if you intend to start casting in silicone.. and if you wanna see my dumb face explain the casting process, you can check out part 3 of them. As always, the SWS offered a free 7 day trial. they are probably the best program around and I highly recommend them. Way back in 2000-2001 I sculpted my first Bio helmet. Humble beginnings. 🙂 We are start somewhere and I wanted to show my embarrassingly amateurish sculpture. Was sculpted over a home depot spray foam base. Used Roma Plastilina Clay. The basic idea was a segmented armor helmet that had a "samurai" vibe to it. I ended up getting silly with the paint. Blue and lots of dots. The reason I am putting it here is that the helmet was molded using Silicone Caulking tubes. They are cheap, readily available and can render a quick helmet. Back in the day I didn't have access to all the goodies we now have to build so I had to find what I could on a budget.. Came across this insta mold stuff at micheals craft store and I had the idea instead of using resin use hot glue to fill the one sided mold. Insta mold is safe and can be used to do a few castings before it dries out and shrinks..which is cool too but has a limited life span... Anyhew here it goes.. I remember the process because I developed it through many burns and trail and error. Inspiration for this came.from speaking with usurper with pieces he has done, so I decided to try myself. I used two different brushes for the powder and brushed it into the mold and literally poured the urethane resin on to it.. Let it set and detmold and hey presto the result.. Well the result is in the pictures. No paint has been used in the pics that's all pigment straight from the mold. I will be doing more like this with the avp elder mold I have as well
