I have a good feeling about this film. It looks like all puzzle pieces are falling into place and this will be a great film to rank up with all our favorite Pred films. And hopefully we will never see another pile of caca like we did back in 2018. Thank you again Shane Black 🖕

I have a few blank masks that i've collected thru the years and i'm always looking for more. Once i have everything i needed it took me about 4 days from beginning to end on the Croc and about 6 days on the elder (i hate painting dreads) I plan ahead my builds. While im working on a project i'm already sketching and ordering whatever parts/paints/etc that i may need for the build. A few years ago i got burnt out of painting predators, same copy and paste with every build. I had to step back from painting those and try my skills painting other props. Until this day that's what i do. Paint a couple pred masks/suits/statues and then work on another monster. And i'm only painting custom predators now days. My honest opinion is that adding feathers and bright colors doesn't make it custom. It has to be different than everything out there.

The amount of detail is amazing dude. The texture lines on top of the hands look natural/organic. You want the best color palette combinations? Nature has them 🙂 - Little suggestion, get yourself some cheap Smithsonian animal books. I recommend bugs, shells, fish and reptiles. -
I remember when you were building this Dwayne. Is great to hear that you still around. I hope to see more of your work, it's been a while brother. Maybe the new movie will get you hyped for new badass suits/masks 🙂 -Chris.

Thanks Gene. The client is just a collector. Display heads are latex. Will be working on another Pred in resin soon as well, after other projects that i have ahead. Originally, when i started to sketch the King Croc it was going to be based on an Elder head, because of the spikes, textures, etc. But talking to my girlfriend, who she doesn't paint but has an excellent eye for details and is also my toughest critic, suggested me to use a Wolf. I am glad it worked out. That has to be one of the most fun paintjobs i've done in a while. Also it was my first Predator paintjob on my new updated studio, in which i can find things easier. I suggest to anyone working on props and you are running out of creative fuel and it's in your means to do it, invest on revamping your work space. It will make you more productive and will reset your mind set for new projects. Here are a couple shots of the making of the Elder. I stopped taking progress photos after i started adding the tattoo. There are a lot more paint layers after. Someday maybe i'll do some sort of tutorial, if anyone is interested on. -Chris.

Custom Berserker Predator (Berserker/P2 hybrid) There are not many Mr. Black parts out there anymore, but i was able to get my hands on some of them. This week i have two suit, using @Mannowar 's skins. I wasn't able to find the completed suit photos, but here are a couple of the WIP. Remind you these are BIG BOY suits. The mask on the grey suit it was made by Skunk (Lee) - He painted that mask and i had to match it's colors to the skins. The other suit was a beat up, pissed off predator. No armor, that's why some shots he looks kinda funny 😄 Have a nice weekend people!!!! -Chris

Okay, this week we have a beautiful statue that i've worked in collaboration with Larry Kidd. The statue was made by DilutedConcepts (Juan) and to my knowledge there are only 3 statues in the world. I believe the statue is 7'4 which makes it a real, life size. I got commissioned by a client who purchased off the statue off Larry. Larry started the paintjob (Full torso and hands were painted by him. Unfortunately for personal reasons, he wasn't able to finish up the statue. I always admired Larry's work and it was an honor to work on this. VIDEO: I apologize for the horrible quality.

Yeah definitely endless possibilities. Looking forward what you can come up with. You can always give it a personal touch to it by adding Jigoro Kano's name in Kanji. In a way he also followed the path of the Samurai (Jujutsu) 🙂

Honestly Gene, this is a beautiful sculpt. You took it from a concept on paper to reality by capturing the essence of what Rob draw on his sketch. You mentioned that you wanted to add some predator glyphs on this, but to my opinion (since you are asking for one) is that Pred glyphs would be to simple, this is a bio that've seen stuff. It's a samurai inspired lid. The character probably was there in the battlefield against the Japanese and to honor them after death, made this helmet. I found this cool article a while back when looking for inspiration as well. It talks about how the Japanese writing started with the introduction of Kanji (China) but there are stories of another original characters used before Kanji. Even the ninjas used it in a way to encrypt their messages. Again, this might sound silly since we are talking of using this on a prop, but i think it adds depth to what you are making. Thanks Gene. My base layers are always rubber inks then i use acrylic inks (mostly bloodline/lifeline. FW/Liquitex) Sealed with Vgloss rubber cement sealer and permawet. Iwata Eclipse HPCS Whatever i paint is freehand, no templates.

Thank you guys. It was a challenge to mount the skins onto the mannequin, but at the end was a fun build. I definitely like it better with the P2 legs than the Berserker's space boots. Here is a bit of the spotting process and a photo the new owner sent me next to a P1 (did not build that one)

This week, we have a head piece that i named "The Poseidon" I wanted something different, bright but mean. I was inspired by some of the colors of the coconut crab. Based on a SM P1 latex head. Custom breather, custom colored dreads and dreadbeads by Casey McCabe. VIDEO:

Thanks guys. To Gene: that is so true, it's been a long way. Everything it started here. Some people, like Bryan or George have turned this into an amazing career, and i couldnt be happier to see friends, killing it out there. 👏 And No, no suit for me. I havent had one in many years.

Today we have the first Albino I've ever built. I always found the Shaman Predator from the lost hunters as a great concept and wanted to base this build with that idea in mind. Also had to come up with a bio concept for the Albino. I'm sorry about the quality of the pictures, they were taken a while back. Last photos are from my client cosplaying for an event. I was about to say the same, i am not a big fan of the bright colors. He is a Predator, a hunter. How easy would be to spot him on top of a tree? But this one, has a very nice red, dark tone. I could totally see him as a badblood clan leader. Very nice concept for sure. And yes, thats definitely one of Bob's masks. Nowdays, a lot of his mask P1, Elder, Berserker are rare to find around.

This is such a cool project. Like Andrew said this is what all of us are here for. Stan created an amazing character that we all love, but the Hollywood industry has f***** it up so much, with their idea of bigger is better. Projects like this really shows the potential these movies could have. Gene, bring this beast to life and who knows, we might see a 12th century Japan based movie, inspired by this. You know THEY are always watching US and our cool projects 😄
