Hey everyone ! Wanted to share a bit more about the custom Bio mask I've designed and sculpted for a short movie (still in production) :) The idea is to have a female Yautja this time. With the actress chosen , we decided to not go with the "bobble head" look we often see in Predator's movies this days. So the helmet is almost "human" in size but with room for the predator's head and mandibles. Worked on a structure I've made , sculpted everything in Monster Clay : mold in silicone and cast in smooth cast 300 resine :) Comparaison with a Celtic and a Wolf I have laying around in the shop : Made two of them , one as a paint master, the other one for production. Worked on some tubing connection : The prepped cast ready for paint : And the finished paint master : The two masks together : Cheers ! :)

I think this is resin cast to sculpt separate parts on it (necklace for example). And probably to have a backup in case the molds and originals sculpts are destroyed 😊 That's something I often do when I make a props from clay, I keep the first cast , making it very strong in case , one day, I have to re make a mold. The shape on the other hand look very good to me ! No wrapping or anything, look really clean ! The emissary have a particular design but it not seem to have any damages on them. But yeah, won't be surprised to see them running after Milla Jovovich... 😂 I love the sculpts of thoses heads, the level of details is insane

Hey everyone ! Just found this right now, did anybody was aware of it ? Two fiberglass cast of the cut Emissary Predators from The Predator were up for sale 3 years ago. Emissary 1 Emissary 2 And it's incredible that as one wasn't sold, the second one was sold only for 500 bucks !! I join you the pics too , maybe if someone want to add them to references gallery ? Cheers !!

Working on the bio mask with a friend :) We're planning to do a 10 spots run of fully finished mask (inside and out) with light and sounds :) Should have the first 3D render by the end of the week !

I think I saw a message from Andrew on facebook , talking about the new forum :) Thanks a lot !!! ^^ Full time prop making is a bit stressful. Sometimes it work, sometimes less. It really depend. But I'm living from what I love to do so it doesn't matter much :) I'm particulary making a lot of Star Wars stuff :)

Hey everyone !! So cool to have the Lair back !! I remember being on the old one in 2009/2010 , learning how to do prop making because of you guys ! Well , may I introduces myself : Jérémy, 27 years old, French , full time prop maker :) I've got so much inspired by what all of you guys were doing back in the day , it keep amaze me and inspire me a lot ! I want to show you a bit of my work from the last few years around our favorite hunter : - A B grade bio mask I've painted, it have been given for charity next ! - A custom project I've designed , sculpted , mold , cast and painted for a fan film in progress - A Wolf Bio I've painted - And a couple of heads I've got around the years. They're waiting for me to have time to paint them ... BTW, except the Pete Mander's wolf head, if you can help me identify the two others ? And we're currently working on making a full version of the Prey's Bio mask, fully finished and with light and sounds :) Thanks all and it's good to be back !!
