thanks Uratz! well, the head and bio was her old Scar costume that i made, i just reused it and made a big adjustment. coz we were planning to wear it on an event last week, which we didn't had a chance to come because of the new baby. but if knew that Kimbo will be out earlier than expected i should have made a new one.

i'm still doing the paint for the armor, the new dreads are looking good, still no paint.. sorry for the mismatched details on the head and bio, i only had limited references. when detailed pictures of Mr. Black was posted, i was already doing the paint for the head. guess we're too excited and got carried away. i'll post some pics i as soon as the baby gives us a break. hehe!

here an update on my Berserker Mr. Black

here is the armor's fist layer of paint... i just used my extra paints at home just to give it a reddish under coat




here is the base paint for the head, sorry for the details, i only had a limited references for the head when i made it, and it was too late when i saw one.




here is the painted head without the dreads and of course my daughter




haven't got time to finished it coz last week we had our 2nd child delivered. hehe! a 7.4 lbs baby boy...

and his name is KALEB nicknamed KIMBO...

for the eyes you could put a lens from a cheap sunglasses or shades tinted yellow, or you can buys a yellow transparent folder on your local school supplies store put on 3 to 4 layer so your eyes are not that visible... hope that helps!

hey guys! first of all thank you for these HIRES references... when my kid saw the pics, her jaws dropped! we both totally agreed that it would be her next costume...

ok, enough about us! now for me, the new breed of predators are great, lesser armor means more movability and more speed in character, compared to the P1, P2 AVP1 and AVP2, the new predators look more menacing. with the jaw bone, the tusk and the falconer... totally wicked! everything is cool... except the head. it looked like it had the worst face lift ever because they took the eyebrows part away and it looked like the brain is exposed... but i like the pattern on it's head, it's like a flame or a tribal design that is branded on the head.

but still can't wait to see it on the big screen!

it's been a while... right now i'm in the process of recycling my daughter's SCAR PREDATOR to make her a new predator costume MR BLACK.
it's been 2 years and my daughter has grown very dramatically. the costume doesn't fit her anymore. so i tried to salvage anything i can still use, the head and the bio. now with a few adjustments and modification i want to show you guys my work in progress...



it's still made of foam covered with contact cement...

very nice... the legs of Voltron girl has 2 parts, the shin or upper part and the feet itself or lower part, i separated them so the feet can move freely while the shin part is locked on the legs.

can't wait to see it done. keep it up! hehe!

wow thanks! i was planning to make one for myself this year. but still got no time because of work...

now i'm planning on how i can make this costume a little bit bigger because some parts no longer fit my kid, adding more details would definitely help... whew! they grow up so fast...

i first measure my kid's body to estimate the size, design and plan the fitting, but during the process problems will occur and i have to build some part on the spot.

MARAMING SALAMAT PO! THANK YOU GUYS! we really appreciate it. my kid was so happy when i told her that many people now have seen her in Voltron outfit, and most of them have a positive comments about her. she was really thrilled, she wanted me to answer all of them and say thanks...

now it's been a while since we joined a convention, she concentrated on her school, and she'll be graduating from Kinder hopefully with honors coz she's been working her ass off since the beginning... and me, work is taking too much of my time, so i really don't have a chance to make a new costume.

thanks guys! it's good to be back... hehe!

all of my creations was done with the same materials (rubber mat) and the same process. like applying emulsion before painting and stuff. this time i'm experimenting on paints. Yoshimitsu is 80% hand painted using brush. i'll try to post step by step pics as soon as posible.

for my costume plan, i'll try lay low on armored characters. i want to do an organic character, like Alien or Predalien. hopefully i can make one next year... and i know many of you can help me! hehe!

it's been a while. hehe! office works killing me. well, this costume i made for my daughter, Chii... she likes playing Tekken DR on her PSP. Yoshimitsu is one of her favorite character in the game. She first wanted to be Panda but we thought it would be a bad idea, so she became YOCHII MITSU, our very own version of Yoshimitsu... the event was held on the 30th of November, 2009. i created the costume in 10 days including the sewing of the pants... it was my first time to sew, it was fun. we even put her name on the design on the pants. hopefully i can do better next time...
